This is the place where I tell you all about me. Unfortunately for you, I’m actually pretty boring!I put lots of exclamation marks in my writing – hoping that it will make me seem more lively! I’ve been told by a copywriter that I use too many, but it appears that I’m now addicted.

 

Personal Stuff

I can pretty much be called a Coffs Harbour local. I grew up in the area and moved to Brisbane as fast as I could when I finished school.

Whilst there, I acquired myself a husband, two kids and a dog. Life was going along pretty good when my father passed away nearly 4 years ago now. He was taken from us via cancer and is forever missed.

So whilst crying over my wedding photos, remembering how fantastic he was, I started to realise that he was only 54 when he passed. He left us way too early and it was this fact that prompted me to live my life doing what I love.

And lucky for you – that is taking your photo!

Community Involvement

I am involved in our community as a Make A Wish Volunteer, regularly photograph events for The Cancer Council, particpate in Relay for Life and have recently set up my own networking group – The Kitchen Table Network.  And I love it all!

Photography Skills

I first picked up a camera when I was quite young. It was pink and it was horizontal and very, very thin. I loved it!

However it wasn’t until I started Year 11 at school and decided I wanted to study it for my Higher School Certificate. I am an old school darkroom addict! I used to spend all of my lunch breaks and free time in there – the Principle even trusted me with a key for afternoons!  It wasn’t a surprise then that I came first in our class…

I am a 2012 Fully Accredited Professional Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers, which means I am honest, ethical and am bound by a code of ethics, and have committed to an ongoing  professional development program. Read more about being a member here. 

I love natural light, however that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to handle studio lighting! I love going on location for shoots and love shooting in my studio for glamour portraits.  I have a natural light studio at Harbour Drive, Jetty.
